Meet the River Lochy team:

Jon Gibb, Fishery Manager

Jon has managed the River Lochy for nearly 25 years and is also Clerk to the Lochaber District Salmon Fishery Board and Head Water Bailiff for the region. All booking enquiries for the river should be directed to him. Much of Jon’s workload sees him dealing with other local stakeholders such as aquaculture, hydro and forestry, as well as engaging closely with bodies such as FMS, AST and Marine Scotland. Jon also manages Drimsallie Hatchery and Live Gene Bank near Glenfinnan and not only delivers fish for restocking the Lochy but also has contracts with several Scottish rivers to rear indigenous fish for restocking.

Billy Neil, Fishing Co-ordinator

Billy is the River Lochy Fishing Coordinator and is one of the most skilled and experienced fishermen in the Highlands today. Billy organises the day-to-day management of the fishing. He also looks after all of the banks, paths and boats on the river and does a tireless job maintaining them all to the high standard that we all enjoy. As well as providing his own guiding service, Billy also organises all of the self-employed ghillies on the river (Dougie, Mike, Chris and James) and all enquiries for guiding should be directed to him.

Pawel Fronzcek

Pawel works full time at the Lochy’s Drimsallie Hatchery near Glenfinnan and has many years’ of experience rearing high quality fish for restocking both the Lochy and our client contract rivers. Pawel’s physical strength is legendary in the area – especially on the field at Lochaber Rugby Club– and he is an enormous help both to Billy on the river and Jon at the hatchery, especially when some extra ‘grunt’ is required!
